"10th Ave-Dyker Heights"

In general, 10th avenue in nice, but not as nice as 11th or 12th avenues. Although not as nice as the others, it is still very nice comparing to the rest of New York City. It's not very busy, but not as quiet as the side streets. Above 75th street is the nicest part of 10th ave, and below 75th 10th ave is ok, but not as nice. In general, a nice place to live.

"High Traffic and Windy!"

The stretch of 10th ave that I am commenting on is thoe no directly behind Chelsea Markets and the Meat Market District. The first thing to point out is that the famous Morimotto’s restaurant is located behind Chelsea Markets and offers a delight to the palate of the sushi lover. Beyond that, 10th avenue is mostly a utility-based street with gas stations and auto repair shops lining its sidewalks. This is not a street that I would recommend living on because of the high traffic and its proximity to the West Side highway. It tends to be noisy here, and also as I’ve noticed recently, quite windy as well. Furthermore, there are no subway lines that go that far west, with the closest being the A C E line running on 8th ave.

"Get in touch with the past"

With the Roxy at hand, you know this street is going to be a party animal but when you need to keep going through the night, theres the requirement for a little sustenance to help out. One of the best ways to refuel is to visit the Empire Diner which has been renovated in the style of a 1920s diner to help you grasp what life was like nearly 100 years ago. Great fun and a place to socialize!

"10th Avenue Highlights"

10th Avenue is filled with great shopping and restaurants, including the cleverly titled "Rhythm & Blues" a nouveau Americana restaurant with a great menu and regular clientel. Otherwise, this neighborhood is filled with some wonderful housing options, parks, shopping, and a real neighborhood feel. This is a great place to live if you're considering living in Brooklyn. You can catch the D and M trains at Ft. Hamilton Parkway between 44th and 45th Avenues.
