Affordability in Bay Ridge

Together with my wife and two kids (1 and 3) we are considering moving to Bay Ridge.
ideally live in a rented 3bedroom house with a garden.
would it be possible (or am I dreaming) to cope on $100-140k annual gross salary?

You can certainly live comfortably in BayRidge with that salary. The only thing is I think you'd much sooner find a 3 bedroom apartment than a whole house. If you did, it would be pricey, between 3-4k monthly. The garden may be a tough find too- while quite and tree-lined, Bay Ridge is still pretty urban and yards are not too big. The parks around the shore, however, are extensive and very clean, that can make up for that.
