I actually think you can find a great teacher at Babicz Guitars in Poughkeepsie, which isn't too far away. Babicz is an innovative place, with cool new guitar features in some of their models you don't see elsewhere. This also translates into their instruction, as you'll find quality teachers that like to try new things and push students to open up their own creativity.

I would recommend going to Alto Music, in Wappingers Falls, and asking them. You could call them, but then you wouldn't get to look at all the cool guitars and music stuff they sell. Alto Music is the Hudson Valley musician's home base, so you can tell them your skill level, what you want to learn, whether you want someone to come to you or go to their studio, etc, and they'll know someone who can teach you. There's a similar place in New Paltz called Root Note - but Wappingers Falls is ten minutes from Hyde Park, and New Paltz is a half hour. New Paltz is a great town, though, so if you have some time, check it out.
