It seems like every street corner in NYC is home to a bank branch. Apparently this proliferation of bank branches was one of the reasons that rents rose so steeply in NYC. Though this situation has changed somewhat with the recession-

Banks are easy to come by in Manhattan, but I have a lot of friends in Brooklyn who have to go into the city to get to their nearest bank branch. Luckily for me, there is a B of A just a few blocks from my house on Graham Ave, but lists like this are definitely more useful than the average Manhattanite may realize.

ATMs are easy to come by in all boroughs, but I can't say the same for actual bank locations.
