Hullabaloo about Truffles

If you live and dine out in NYC , you know New Yorkers love their truffles..truffle oil, truffle butter, shaved truffles seem to feature on numerous restaurants menu that's why I was surprised to read about a truffle store facing so much opposition on the tony UWS.

Do you like truffles? where in the city is the best place to enjoy truffles without paying an arm and a leg for the much coveted delicacy?

I know about truffles but never ate one. So honestly speaking, I do not know if I like them or not, since I never had one in my mouth. Now that you mentioned it, I might try one just to experience tasting and eating it.

Egads, what a problem to have! Truffles in pasta dishes are amazing! But whosoever puts a stinky store in a luxury building full of privileged, whiny Manhattanites is asking for trouble!

@Uraniumfish; You make me laugh. I like your attitude. Tell it like it is. By the way, I do agree with you.

@hhusted I don't think you would want an entire truffle in your mouth. They are usually added to dishes as shavings or in small amounts as they are expensive with a very potent flavor.

@everyone I can only imagine the odor coming from a shop that specializes in whole truffles. I don't really blame the people in that building for hating the place.

I love truffle oil on pasta or other sauces, or shaved truffles - it's one of my favorite foods! (Also chocolate truffles, but that's a whole 'nother story..)
