Oscars anyone?

I am so looking forward to Sunday night when I plan to be glued to my TV as the Oscar drama unfolds. I will be watching the academy awards alone but NYC has a spate of Oscar Parties planned for the occassion-http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/05/urbaneye/05ubn1.html.
No doubt Avatar will win a truck load of awards but I am most interested in the Best Actress category where Meryl Streep is nominated for her role as Julia Child in Julie and Julia a movie set in NYC .(. If I am not mistaken in the dreary nabe of LIC.:)). I recently saw an interview with Julie Powell on whose book the movie is based and she said she loved the fact that NYC figured as a 'character' in the movie. So now more than ever I want the brilliant Meryl Streep to win that bald, gold man! Are you planning to watch the Oscars as well?

Meh. I doubt I'll watch, but we can meet back here to complain a little about the winners/losers.

I want NYC to win! The city's been a character enough times she deserves her own Oscar!

Why did I think the Oscars already happened? I really need to figure out how to get the tv cable in my room to work... But I am rooting for Meryl Streep, too! I love how gracefully and apparently plastic surgery-free she has chosen to age, and also she's brilliant.

I feel like Sandra Bullock may win; but, as much as I like her, I don't want her to win.

Sandra Bullock and an Oscar? Say it ain't so!

I doubt that I'll be watching, these award ceremonies tend to bore me... a lot. Sometimes I put them on as background noise, but I doubt I'll even bother to do that...

I love Meryl Streep, but hasn't she won enough already? She's great, but somehow it doesn't feel "fair" if she wins - she's like Judi Dench. You KNOW they're better - you don't need reminding of it all the time!

I love watching award shows for the few underdogs that win. It's so exciting when someone is completely shocked by the award.

I cannot believe that Sandra Bullock took home an Oscar...or that she even had a career after Speed.
