I don't even know where to start with that . . . but, I'll give it a go. NYC is a city where you meet a new person every single day. You walk everywhere so on any given day you hear three different kinds of music, three different kinds of arguments and smell seventeen different kinds of food. Getting together with friends requires a ten minute walk and getting home is never a process (no matter how much you've had to drink). People are passionate about what they do and who they love. You can get into a thirty minute discussion with the person at the next table over which commute uptown is quicker or the closing of Chumleys. There is always something to do and always someone that will do it with you. You can buy fruit in midtown and pizza at 4 am. Everything you need is within 4 blocks. There is so much energy all the time -- even during a blizzard. And, while there are a lot of crappy people in New York. I've never before in my life encountered more people willing to help a stranger than in New York City.
