"Friendly place to reside for the under-twenty set"

Montrose has seen much improvement and rising rents in recent years; nowadays the street is stocked with bakeries, thrift stores and located near trendy cafes (Boulevard on Bushwick Ave) and fancy grocers (Khim's Millenium Market). If you'd live here five years ago you'd make people gasp in horror when you told them where you live. Now when you describe your residence you live on a street that most people recognize as trendy Williamsburg. This street is a gem when taken into consideration with much of the surrounding streets, and if you can find an affordable rent on this street along the L train, then don't hesitate to move in.

The area where Montrose meets Broadway isn't the nicest area, but as one travels farther north the neighborhood blooms with hipsterdom and things to buy/places to eat.
Pros
  • cute cafes, vintage shops
Cons
  • it's getting expensive
  • a little too close to a poor area

"A little Dark, but Okay to Live Here"

Montrose ave is located in Brooklyn near the Williamsburg Bridge. Its proximity to both Queens and Manhattan makes it an appealing midpoint to live in it. Compared to the rest of the area, it is actually quite hospitable. There are a few restaurants in the area, as well as a Bank of America a few blocks away. It is, however, slightly inconvenient in terms of transportation as it is only close to the L subway line, which in turn connects to others on either direction. If you have a car, it is not so bad because it is close to both the bridge and the BQE, which are generally fast. This is definitely a young hipster area and not one to settle down in long term.

"On Montrose Avenue"

Montrose Avenue, besides being a beautiful and energetic street in a great neighborhood, is well connected with the J and M trains available on nearby Hewes Street and the convenient G train on Broadway. This neighborhood was filled with things to do and I think that anyone could be happy here. I think that this is a fantastic place to live!
