How FAR is it to New York City from New Rochelle?

We have all heard the old standard "45 Minutes to Broadway" but is it? How long does it take YOU to go to the city from New Rochelle? My husband and I have taken the Henry Hudson Parkway on a Saturday evening and made it in 20-25 minutes to the upper West Side.. That is pretty good.. If I take the Metro North to the city then the Express only takes 30 minuts which is great.. and figure on another 5-10 minutes during weekdays non express... All told, less than the 45 minutes (by train) and perhaps 45 minutes if there is traffic by car.. What has your experiences been and which highways do you take? The Deegan? Cross County/Bronx River via the Triboro Bridge?

I try not to drive to Manhattan if I can avoid it, but in my experience the most efficient route to Manhattan by car is the Deegan.

Gay E. Rosen Hi TracyD - the West Side Highway isn't as bad as the East Side River - no? I usually take the Henry Hudson Parkway. All good!
