Willyburg Waterfront Concerts Charging?! WTF?!!!

Am I reading wrong or are the concerts at the Williamsburg Waterfront now charging for tickets? I am utterly beside myself I'm so bummed. I went three times last summer and it was so fun. And, now it's not free? What up wit dat?

It could be that with the budget cuts, some method has to be made to collect money to help the city financially. Is the waterfront owned by NYC?

Sigh. I have a long tirade I'm holding back on the subject of how we shouldn't be the ones paying for art as individuals, but taxes should go toward arts patronage. Anyway, bummer.

@JenMac yes I think hhusted is right, the Parks Department has been forced to impose some serious budget cuts so maybe that's one of the outcomes of it..

Blame it on Bloomberg. He's the one who ordered the budget cuts.
