Yankee Stadium

Am I the only Bronx person on here, or is it just that there are too many Mets fans?

I can't believe nobodys talking about Yankee stadium, and all the politics.

I want a new stadium. I think it will be great for the Bronx.

Yes, there are cost overruns. But Federal money is coming back in.

There were overruns in the 70s too when the stadium was rebuilt. And sweetheart deals, at a time when the city was broke. We didn't have cops but we could pay a parking company to come in with a contract that they never bid openly for. So I get it why this is such a problem. But why should the Yankees pay for a metro north station?

I just want them to play ball!!!

I liked the old one just fine. Why do they need a new one? This whole threat that teams do that they're going to pull out and go to Jersey if they don't get what they want - That's all over the place. They were making TONS of money there, why not just keep the house that Ruth built? (OK, the house that Lindsay and co rebuilt in the 70s).

I mean really, is this going to bring anything new to the area? Any new money? The only benefit I see is the Metronorth station.

So tell me, what's in it for NYC? We know what's in it for Steinbrenner and the pols.

cmsv, i have to agree with hudson. the old one is just fine, and i think you prol like just like big, shiny new things. It will bring nothing new to the city.
