"So Close to Manhattan"

I have visited and stayed Astoria many times and my favorite thing about this neighborhood is how close it is to Manhattan! It only takes me about 15 minutes to get into work since I work right off the N/R/W line! It is great, lots of times I want to stay at my friends in Astoria rather than go back to my home in Brooklyn!

Another great attribute is all the Greek restaurants that you can go to here. One great place is the restaurant 718. I would definitely check it out!

Another place that MUST be checked out is the cannoli at La Guli Bakery. It is one of the best cannoli's that I have ever had in my life and it is located on 2915 Ditmars, close to 31st St and the final stop of the N subway.

"Busy, Busy, Busy"

When you get off the subway at Atlantic, you might be overwhelmed because there is alot going on. There is the Atlantic Mall, which has a Target, Old Navy, Circuit City, McDonald's, Victoria Secret and other smaller stores. There is also many stores along the strip.

This is a very convenient street to shop at since you can get most anything here. However, I would not want to live on the street because it is just too busy and noisy with pedestrians. But you can catch many subway lines, including the N,R,Q,W, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the LIRR to get into Long Island.

Definitely a street to visit for a short period of time.

"Great City Living"

Parkside Avenue is a great place to rent an apartment. I have several friends who I visit there right off the Q and it's always very pleasant. However, when you start going a bit more towards Flatbush, that can be a little bit more dangerous, especially at night.

What's great about Parkside is that Prospect Park is literally right across the street from it! You can stroll right over and have a picnic or take a walk there! And if you live on Parkside, the park is within viewing distance out your window!

It can be noisy on this street. Lots of times people blast music all night or very early in the morning. But as long as you don't mind that, this can be a great place to live! Especially if you love Mcdonald's, since there is a nice big one right there! Also, check out the supermarket because they have excellent deals on meat there that help with your food budget!
