The MTA's new select bus service the M15

The M15 is a bus service that serves my neighborhood. The MTA has recently introduced a new select bus service the M15 SBS which has replaced the M15 limited. For the new SBS service riders have to board by swiping their metro cards at turnstiles on the street rather than dip their metro cards at the drivers kiosk. The new bus will makes stops at every 10 blocks and thus will provide a speedier commute. I dont know I quite liked the M15 limited, I thought it was pretty fast(!). Has anyone ridden on the new M15 SBS? the M15 travels up First Avenue and then turns around and comes down Second Avenue in Manhattan.

More about the new M15 select bus service, a service the MTA hopes to extend on other routes.

I have yet to ride it, but I did see the bus. The bus also has a different look as well. It looks like it was painted differently.

@uptowngirl: Yeah, that's it. By the way are you back in NYC. You seen to be by your comments, considering the MTA buses didn't change colors until very recently. Just wondered.

I admit I rarely ever take the bus, and this is the first I've heard of a new bus service. But I have to say that the few times I've taken the bus in Park Slope it took forever to arrive, perhaps because I was taking it on the weekends?

I don't have a long commute when I go places, so I tend to stick to the normal buses. I like watching the world go by - one of the big improvements on the metro!

I often take the M15 back home from my TJ's run when I don't feel like taking the subway hence I am quite interested to see how this new service pans out.
