Roughly half of the houses in Amenia fall within the 1,000 to 1,800 square foot range, so the average is somewhere in there. Perhaps on the high end of that range, because there are a number of very large houses in this area of the county that skew the figures upward. For what it's worth, I read that the median home size here is close to 1,600 square feet, which sounds about right.
