The Route 202/35 corridor runs East/West across much of the northern portion of Westchester County. It becomes more commercial as it enters Yorktown including the shopping district in Yorktown Heights and westward through Mohegan Lake and Crompond until essentially terminating in Peekskill. This route is alternatively known as Crompond Road and it also passes through residential neighborhoods comprised of single famly homes and condominium and rental complexes in the Hamlet of Crompond and the City of Peekskill. There are two large shopping centers located on this stretch of Route 202/Crompond Road, BJ's Plaza and the Beach Shopping Center. In addition, the Hudson Valley Hospital Center is also located along this route. As a result of all this commercial activity, this roadway gets a lot of commercial and vehicular tracffic causing some congestion and can be noisy. As of this writing, a long-awaited roadway improvement project has just begun to improve the traffic flow along this route in Mohegan Lake where Route 202/35 meets the Bear Mountain Parkway Extension. From Lincoln Terrace I would estimate you are approximately 1 mile from downtown Peekskill, less than 1 mile from the Beach Shopping Center and perhaps 3 miles from the Cortlandt Town Center Shopping area. There are many fine restaurants in this general vicinity as well. Please check with local municipal websites from crime statistics. .
