"Lots of nightlife, people watching nearby"

Third Street is pretty standard for the East Village – it houses a bunch of restaurants, and various shops. Mama’s is a soul food restaurant I used to pass every day on my way to work (when I used to work in an East Village restaurant myself), and when I finally made it a point to stop there I found it was pretty good, and I really recommend going.

"East 3rd Street"

As a girl who grew up with parents who can throw down in the kitchen, Mama's Food Shop was a surprise to find in the somewhat gentrified East village. I love the chicken! You might also try Le Caire Mediterranean Lounge for some middle easter fare, which boasts an excellent menu. Tis street wasn't care of East Village flare, and it had a great feeling to it. The street was remarkably diverse and filled with people!

East 3rd is close to the following metro and is accessible to many buses. Foot traffic is moderate, and it is a good neighborhood for young people!!
