Is Hollywood Fl safe?

Hello. I was wondering if Hollywood Fl is safe to go out and walk your dog or go and hang out because i've hears that there is crime everywhere and was really interested in moving but if crimes the case, i don't know.

Your area sounds wonderful. May I ask, if not the exact name, then what is it close to? My mom and I are moving down there and I am looking for a safe, diverse neighborhood.

I am a 70 year old woman and have lived in hollywood for 3 years. I live in a so called mixed neighborhood. I have never been afraid to walk my dog or ride my bike at dark or walk around the neighborhood. alot of my neighbors are from the islands and are the sweetest people and keep their homes beautiful. there are bad neighborhoods in every community but I don't know where they are in Hollywood. The beach is wonderful and the best; shopping spectacular, and restaurants galore of all ethnicities. you will love it.

JeanM1 Hi IrisW, I am 67 year old woman who's planning to move back to Hollywood but with all the bad review it sem=ems that its gone downhill. Would you mind please letting me know which neighborhood you're in? I'm particularly looking for a senior apartment (independent and active ,don't need any assistance and not ill) however, if you found a house or apartment that is good would you please let me know? Thanks.
