You can get a parking permit fairly easily. Insider tip: the Huntington garage fills quickly, early morning. A good alternative is to park in the outdoor lot across the street and walk to the train via the overpass.

To get a permit, apply to Huntington Town Clerk Jo Ann Raia: http://www.huntingtonny.gov/content/13753/13757/17478/17526/18796/17809/17871/default.aspx

Resident Commuter Parking Permit Fee is $75 and is good for one year from date of issue and is valid in all LIRR commuter parking lots within Huntington: Northport, Greenlawn, Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington including the North and South LIRR Parking Garages located in Huntington Station. Resident Commuter Parking Instructions:

1) Complete Application Form
2) Enclose check for Required Fee
3) Enclose photocopy of your Vehicle Registration

If you are applying for a Resident Permit, the registration must reflect a Town of Huntington address. (If the vehicle registration does not reflect your name and/or a Town of Huntington address, please contact (631) 351-3206 to request a Proof of Residency/Proof of Ownership affidavit. The completed, notarized affidavit should be returned with your renewal application and fee).

Make your check payable to Jo-Ann Raia, Town Clerk and mail to the Town Clerk's Office, 100 Main Street Huntington, NY 11743-6991.
