Living in the Kips Bay neighborhood of New York City - whats it like?

It's pretty boring and there isn't much of a neighborhood feel seeing as most of the buildings are massive and there is hardly any green to be found. The local bars are just ok. I, honestly, don't ever mention or hear one of my friends mention Kips Bay outside of going to the movies. And, even at that, we only go to their theatre if it's just a more convenient time. Pretty underwhelming.
