So long, air hockey tournaments

I haven't been to Cheap Shots in a while but that doesn't mean I won't mourn the loss of their public nuisance-ry.

The NYU watering hole was closed after serving underage auxiliary police officers on at least three different occasions. Surely won't surprise many people, but it is certainly a loss for underage college kids.

What are everyone's experiences being underage in the big city?

I can't remember being carded in NYC but just yesterday was remembering the time when I was carded while try to get into a club in Hong Kong in the earl 1990's,I certainly didn't look under 21 even then I was sent back to my hotel to get my passport for verification.I was actually quite amused by the incident ..

I would never break the law, but I have heard from inside sources that it isn't too hard to get away with using a fake ID in this city, no matter what you hear.

I've never really been one to frequent Cheap Shots; can't say that I'll be missing it.

And, I actually didn't live here when I was underage. And even more regrettably, it's been a while since I was carded. Ouch.

I thought most places carded even if you look at much as 10 years over the drinking age?

I am in my twenties and I can't remember the last time I was carded. I tend to hang out in Brooklyn a lot, and I don't really frequent places with a very young crowd, which may have something to do with it. Either that or I just look too old to be questionable.

@Everyone I guess all the clubs and bars in the Meatpacking district must have strict door policies since they are so popular with tourists ..and other folks from out of town.. havent been there in ages..
