"Lots of shopping, eateries, and places to stay"

This road has a lot of timeshare properties on it, along with a large amount of shopping and eatery opportunities. A tourist/traveler would be hardpressed to be without something to see or do. The area is relatively safe, and close to I-4. However, it is a little easy for the newest visitors to get turned around and momentarily disoriented. Luckily, there are many landmarks that make it easy to find your way again.

"Good place to go for shopping or food"

When you are on vacation or even if you live in the area, this is a great street to go shopping or to have a bite to eat. If you become overwhelmed easily when you have many options than this may not be the place for you. But if you are looking for options you will surely find something here. You can even get dinner at one place, dessert at another and drinks somewhere else.

"Tourist Road with plenty to see and do"

This road runs right by Universal Studios so it has tons of places to eat and of course touristy type shops where people can by souvenirs and what not. If you head north past Universal on Sand Lake then it turns into a residential street that doesn’t look to safe to stay. South, past Universal there is a brand new Whole Foods and several new home complexes and stores. If you stay in the tourist area, the street is safe, well lit and runs right through I-4 and leads to the ever-popular International Drive.

"Heart of the tourist district"

Sand Lake Road is mainly known for having shopping on it, namely the Florida Mall. Florida Mall is one of the biggest in Florida and has a ton of shops. There's also a bookstore, several other small retail places, and has a rockin sushi place on the corner of Sand Lake and Orange Blossom Trail. It also connects up with International Drive, another hub of tourist activity.
