"Quite, unusual street."

Szold Place is an almost totally unknown street in the East Village / Avenue D Projects border of Manhattan. It's a small, historically named street near the Dry Dock swimming pool. It's a great street to stop and take five minutes to rest and enjoy the day wether you live in the neighborhood or are just stopping by.

"Far from the trendy LES, close to tourist-packed 14th St"

At the north edge of the East Village, Twelfth Street maintains the same kind of brownstone charm as the rest of the neighborhood. There aren’t too many exciting bars or restaurants on the street, but it does feature some of the standard fare that appeals to NYU students – pizza places and bar & grill restaurants. It’s a relatively quiet place.

"It all depends on the cross street."

East 12th street is a nice place to live and depending on the cross street your residence falls on you will find all different atmospheres. John's restaurant, between 1st and 2nd Avenues, offers great cuisine in a nice calm atmosphere. Some areas offer wild fun with many bars and lounges while other sections of the street are much tamer and offer peace and quiet. Potential residents should consider walking the area before settling, because it does all depend on where on East 12th street you land.

"East 12th street"

So many people like the East Village but characterized as being very young meaning that this is a nesting ground for debauchery. In my opinion, it's a wonderful place for expression and creativity. For example, the Blue Owl restaurant which is described a s mature by its patrons exhibits the more intellectualized side of the East Village and creative expression. The street itself was very quiet, good for those who can't stand the sound of buses and trains!

East 12th is close to the following metro and is accessible to many buses. Foot traffic is moderate, and it is a good neighborhood for young people!!

"Great street with great people"

12th Street is a great street. There are not even any businesses on my block so it is nice and quiet. The school across the street has tons of outdoor space that is usable by residents on the weekend.

You are close to tons of good restaurants and bars as well as Thompkins Square Park and East River Park so there is plenty to do.
