"Short Strip in Good Community"

This is just a short strip connecting Diego W to Diego E. The whole Diego Dr (N,W,S then E) is fairly short one wonders why it was named by directions. Anyway this section takes you past the Mission Bay club house (residents only). Well landscaped! Great neighborhood!

"Speed trap location!"

Diego east is the east continuation of Boca South and is the eastern most access point to the Mission Bay condo and townhome communities. It is also the best access point to Chris Evert Tennis academy. It has the pre-school day care La Petite. Also, one can enter aslo the back of the plaza, Clock's restuarant and the funeral service.

The two lakes on either side of the exit/entrance to Glades boast great sunrises and sunsets.

Lookout for cops on the corner especially in the mornings 8 to 11am because that is one of their favorite spots to catch speeders. If you are in the right lane you will not see them until you come out of the curve and it will be too late.

Also, beware of the crazy U-turners on Glades.

"Quick connection between the central and southern part of Boca Raton"

Powerline is one of the main streets in Boca. Relative to most streets in Boca, it has many restaurants, plazas and professional offices. It is in between the two major state highways, so it is another alternate to the Turnpike or I95 if one or both have traffic jams. North of Glades (the major E/W road of Boca) Powerline becomes Jog Rd. Some communities have access roads off of Powerline but no residential properties have addresses on Powerline. I think of Powerline as a through-fare to go down to Broward county or for going to meet someone at their office.

"Easy East West Boca Road"

It is one of the more green and easier to navigate main East-West roads in Boca Raton. It is lined by many gated communities in the west; plazas and places of worship mainly in central Boca; office buildings and supporting restaurants in the east. The train station entrance is off of Yamato just west of the I95. There are few if any homes directly on Yamato. East of the I95 Yamato is aslo known as NW51st. Yamato does not go over the intra-coastal so there is no beach access on this road. This is a nice alternative to taking Glades.

"The place to be for upscale shopping, browsing, dining and live entertainment"

If you are looking to browse art stores, sample some wine and/or oysters, buy luxury clothing, stroll around and admire the luxury cars and take in some live bands then Plaza Real is the place to be. Plaza Real is a loop in Mizner Park, the heart of Boca Raton that is lined with a variety of dining experiences from a chain like Ruby Tuesday's to fine restaurants like Marks or ritzy bars like Gigis. There are many upscale boutiques and chain stores like Robb& Stucky. What I like best of all is the live entertainment at the north end in the amphitheater, the free concerts in the gazebo in the middle of Mizner. It is a great place to walk around because there are the walkways/sidewalks in front of the various stores and there is a very well landscaped center promenade that is equipped with sculptural benches and many water features.

"Great trail"

This is a great green space with tennis courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, picnic areas, the Daggerwing Nature area and Coconut Cove water park. I especially love going to watch sunsets on the pond accross from the water park. It it is great for jogging, and riding.

"Good highway alternate"

Lyons road runs the length (north - south) of Boca Raton. It is a great street if the Turnpike is blocked and you have to either go north or south to other cities north or south of Boca Raton. Within Boca it is not one of nicest looking streets as it is only sparsely planted with a few palms.
However, there are some shopping plazas at the main intersections. At Glades one of the plazas has a Michaels one of the very few if not the only craft store in central and west Boca. This street is the main access road for a variety of communites like the very upscale Le Rivage; the retirement community, Century Village; and others like Boca Landings, American Homes, Boca Fontana, Escondido and the various subdivisions of Boca Lago, Boca Barwood and Sandalfoot. Olympics Height High Scool and North Broward Private Schools are also on this street.

"Best access to shopping and restaurants"

This is the main east-west road in Boca Raton. In a city where lots of communities are gated it is not always easy to get around. However, this street will take you to most anything you want, banking, groceries, movie theaters, restaurants, shopping centers. It has the only Whole Foods in Boca. It runs east from Federal Highway all the way west to the western edge of Boca where communites back on to South County Park and the Loxahatchee National Reserve. Relative to the other east-west steets it has more traffic but it is still the fastest route between the I95 and say 441. I found this after a few years of driving along Yamato (and Palmetto) to I95. Like most other Boca streets it is well landscaped and is great for luxury car watching. The only downsides are: you can not get to the beach from this street and you'll have to watch out for agresive drivers.
