"Short street in Brooklyn"

India Street is a very short street in Brooklyn going from McGuinness Blvd to the docks by the river on Kent Ave. India is very quiet and relaxed in the residential part but the area aruond the docks (right by the river) could get a bit hectic. There are factories around and the trucks make it pretty loud. Although there are no stores right on India it is very close to any type of shopping. A few bars on Greenpoint Ave, which is about three blocks away. Recommended for grown ups with no little kids since the neighborhood itself could be unsafe (questionably) at night. Nevertheless, it is a pretty street with trees and close to a park.

"Great for a bike ride"

Kent Ave runs along the river and the views breathtaking. You can see the midtown and downtown of Manhattan from this street. It is surrounded by factory buildings, old warehouses and some houses. It is not good for little kids. It is good for taking photos as there most buildings are old and Manhattan's skyscrapers are pretty well visible. Not very safe at night but during the day it makes a great place for a bike ride. Visit the new park on Kent Ave and North 6th and have a picnic while relaxing and looking at the New York City skyline.

"The center of Greenpoint"

Manhattan Ave is the shopping center of Greenpoint. Filled with shops of all kinds, from grocery stores to perfume shops to clothing boutiques it is the busisest street in the neighborhood. It runs all the way through to Williamsburg and it is just as interesting there. It is a great place for going out and having fun at one of the restuarants or bars or shopping for just about anything you need. There are all kinds of stores there where you can buy anything you need (no car dealerships).

"Quiet-Great for a Walk"

Newel Street is one of the prettiest streets in Greenpoint. It is full of nicely kept, clean housing units. The trees on both sides of the whole street make it a perfect place for a stroll in the evening. Even though there are not too many stores or restaurants on Newel it is close to plenty or great shops and grocery stores as well as nice restaurants. Walking on Newel is great if you want to avoid the chaos of the crowded parallel avenues.
