"whoops, not 46th"
I was trying to get to the Hourglass on w 46th, but misread the sign and turned down w 47th by accident. I don't care about diamonds, I'm not interested in diamonds, but it seems all they had were diamonds and more diamonds (and one very flamboyant boutique, if you know what I mean). And after seeing this street, I could do without diamond shops for a while.

"an amazing street"
I came to NY one year with my girlfriend, ready to see the city. Once we hit this street, I knew that was as far as I was going to get. There is so much shopping here that we ended up staying on this street until well into the night. Men, if you come here with a lady, bring an Ipod or a portable tv or PSP or something because even window shopping here is like a dream for any woman, and even some men.

As the other reviewers have pointed out, W 47th Street is the center for diamond shopping in New York City. With over 2500 shops, there is no excuse for paying too much for a diamond here - haggle your way to the cheapest piece of jewelry you've ever bought for your loved one or for yourself! Then skip the hustle and bustle and head to the TKTS booth - there are discount tickets on Broadway shows sold here every day. That's a much better way of relaxing and having a New York kind of night than hanging around Rockefeller Center would be. All in all, 47th Street alone will provide you with enough entertainment for an entire day.

"One of my Craving Streets"
i have visited 47th Street just a few many times but my crave to go over there never ends. yes there is only one reason, and that is my weakness to jewellery and more specifically diamonds.This area is one of the primary centers of the global diamond industry and one of the famous and reknown shopping area of the city. Even if i dont shop and purchase i love going to the diamond street again to see the marvellous jewel collection.

"Looking for Jewelry Try New York's Diamond District"
New York's Diamond District is easy to find. It is located on West 47th Street between 5th and 6th Ave. It Maybe easy to find but it is hard to believe that there are approx 2600 jewelry stores in on city block. The stores are located in exhanges which are basically office buildings with a jewelry store in each office. If you there to browse you maybe better of starting at the largest exchange The World's Largest Jewelry Exchage at 55 W. 47th Street. If your looking to buy diamonds don't be shy realize these people are here to sell diamond don't be shy and give the diamond district a try.
