"Love the Met"

If you want to see any place that is charming and has a lot to offer, go visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is fantastic. You can learn a lot by going there. Getting there is not that hard to do. You can either grab a cab, ride the bus, or take the subway to a nearby stop and get out to walk. The choice is yours. The the experience is breath-taking.
Pros
  • Great museums in the area
Cons
  • Too many cars around
  • Too many people at times

""Meet me on the steps....XOXO""

An upscale residential street, 5th Ave is home to notable museums making it a tourist draw. Walk along this avenue and you may even get to watch a taping of the hit show "Gossip Girl". Have lunch on the steps of the Met or buy a painting on the street near the Guggenheim. Closer to Central Park South, there are many vendors selling everything from artwork to books and CDs.

"East 62nd St"

Not much going on this street to be honest and is very similar to the rest of the streets in the area. An interesting store I found was the Arche shoe store, which sells all brands at fairly reasonable prices. It's always nice to find a place that another doesn't have, and New York is filled with interesting options for clothing and shoes all over the place. It's a great city for shopping, though this street isn't the most interesting in terms of anything but... well, walking to another one.

"The Pierre Hotel Closes"

Many people know that the most expensive apartment in the city is the top three floors of the Pierre Hotel. What many outsiders do not know is that the hotel will be closing (except for the private residenses) at the end of 2007. Much of the spendor of one of New York's most important hotels will be lost. By the way how about paying almost $40,000 a month in maintainence and not having a restaurant or bar to go to in your building. Only in New York kids, only in new york.

Jason Spencer I was in New York recently and took a photo of the apartment at the top of the hotel on the market for $70 million! Amazing. Just uploaded a photo.
