"The Most Famous Museum in NYC - MNH"
The biggest problem is getting to it, especially by car. Traveling by car is not going to work. There are too many cars in Manhattan as it is. Your best bet is to come into the city by bus or path train to Broadway and 34th St. Then take an uptown bus to 81st St. Then take a M79 bus to the museum.

You will also see many apartment buildings in the area. W. 141st Street goes a long way. It is not a shortcut to another street. It goes a ways. But the highlight of the street is when it goes by the Hamilton Granger National Memorial. That alone is worth driving on the street.

The place does tend to get busy with people, especially when school is in session.
It has its ups and downs. If you don't mind the ugliness in sections, and you do have kids, you may be willing to move to this street.
Also, tourists may like the area because of the stores around.

"Well Traveled Road in Garden City"
Despite the fact it is a well-traveled road, it is beautifully kept. The blvd actually is four lanes but divides in the center by an island that is mostly grass, but with some trees along the way.
It is really a nice road to travel on. There are not that many homes on the blvd, although there are some. There are some stores in spots. Overall, it would give it a thumbs up for a great road to travel on.

There really is not much else to see. I would not recommend this area as it is mostly commercial.
On the other hand, if you really are looking for excitement and a place to relax, you might want to go across the street on Broadway. This is were W. 251st Street ends. On the other side of Broadway is Old Putnam Trail. It also has a large baseball field. So you might want to check it out.

"Curvy, Split, and Nice Looking"
The bright spot on the side that ends at Arthur Avenue is St. Barnabas Hospital. This hospital is situated on a huge garden-like area. When you see the edge of the area, you would think it is a park.
There are a few schools in the area as well.
On the other side of Park Avenue where E. 184th Street continues till it meets Jerome Avenue, there is a section that is quite curvy. This section from Webster Avenue to Marion Avenue is quite curvy, so be careful driving there. Otherwise, much of the area is quite nice and clean.

"Highbridge Park the Best Choice to See"
W. 172nd Street resides in the Washington Heights section of the Bronx.
Much of W. 172nd Street is residential buildings, but there are a number of stores as well. But the most often seen part of W. 172nd Street is Highbridge Park.
For a while Highbridge Park was not much to look at. But with the help of the New York Restoration Project, which has been in place since 2000, the park has been going through a restoration process. The park has not been fully restored as there is still much work to do.
But there has been some improvements like the creation of bike paths. Also, in 2008, the Police Officer Michael J. Buczek Little League field opened.

"Claremont Park - The Best Part"
There are a few schools on E. 170th Street, but the best part is Claremont Park. It is absolutely gorgeous there. And the park is huge. It covers many acres of land. You can do so much there. You can take your kids there or just sit on a bench and relax.
Of all the places to go on E. 170th Street, Claremont Park is it.

"Lots of Stores and Clean Neighborhoods"
When you get to Webster Avenue, you are now in the commercial zone. All you see for a long stretch are stores, one after another. And this is found on both sides of the block. If you like shopping, you will like hanging around E. 167th Street between Webster Avenue and Teller Avenue.
After you get past Teller Avenue, the road widens around and becomes mainly a residential neighborhood. However, this area is really nice looking.

The best part of the street is when you come up to the New Yankee Stadium. But before getting there, E. 161st Street comes together in the middle of the road and goes down like into a tunnel. Concourse Village West and East are on each side the E. 161st Street. This area is also very well commercialized.

After you pass 3rd Avenue and head for St. Anns Avenue, you will run into a school and a bunch of boarded up buildings. This area is really ugly looking.

"A Weird Street - Broken Up in Sections"
E. 144th Street from the Bruckner to St. Mary's Playground is strictly a commercial and industrial zone. You won't see much of anything else, except maybe a parking lot.
To get to E. 144th St on the other side of the playground to go on, you would need to turn left on Jackson Ave and procedure to turn right on St. Mary's Street. Then turn right on St. Anns Avenue. Then turn left on E. 145th Street. Go down to 3rd Avenue, make a left, and make another left onto E. 144th St.
This entire block is made up of schools and residential buildings.
In order to get to the other part of E. 144th Street, you will need to turn right on St. Anns Avenue and travel on e. 143rd Street all the way till you get to Morris Avenue, then turn right and then a left onto E. 144th Street.

If you get on E. 137th Street from the Bruckner expressway, the street begins with car repair shops. Once you get pass Cyprus Avenue, the neighborhood becomes residential. It is also a nice area here. Further down you run into small stores on one side and residential apartment buildings on the other.
After Brook Avenue, you hit the school zone. The last block before Willis Avenue is mainly residential until just about at the intersection when a school zone will appear.

"Nice Area to Live - Stay Away From Third Avenue Side"
That little section has a lot of commercial establishments. There is also construction going on in the area. As you go down E. 135th St. toward the Bruckner, you will dirty streets and boarded up buildings. There are also factories in the area. That is the end of the line here.
If you want to get on the other part of E. 135th St. you will need to turn right (this part of Bruckner is a one way only), and go down to E. 138th St. and turn left. Drive down to Cypress Ave and turn left. You can get to E. 135th St. from here.
The section from the Major Deegan is really nice. There are trees and flowers on the left hand side of the road. There are residential buildings on the right. As you proceed further down the street, and once you pass St. Anne Avenue, there will be a school on one side with a small playground.
There are actually two schools along this route. The area is quite nice though, with trees and shrubbery on the side next to the Major Deegan Expressway.
As you travel further up and pass Brown Pl., the area opens a bit and is so nice looking. There is also ramp that comes from the Major Deegan. This is a nice area to live in. As you travel down, you run into a small commercial zone, with small commercial buildings and a Mobil gas station at one corner. Despite some small pockets of filth, the place is pretty neat.
When you get past Willis Avenue, there is a lot of construction as they make a ramp from the Willis Avenue Bridge. There is also a school on the right hand side of the street. Once you get to 3rd Avenue, the road narrows and becomes very dirty. it also appears to be unsafe. The street eventually merges onto Park Avenue. From there Park Avenue takes over and continues.

"Great as a Bypass to Bruckner Expressway"
On one side of the street you will see the Major Deegen Expressway. The other side is made up of a mixture of apartment buildings and dirty streets.
As you travel down E. 134th St, you will see large commercial buildings as you enter the commercial area of the street. This will be the Port Morris section of Harlem.
It is very dirty and commercialized in sections. At one point there is road construction that shortens the width of the street.
At Willis Ave, there is a lot of construction where E. 134th St. stopped at one time. But it is now going through and connecting onward to where E. 134th St. travels until it reaches 3rd Ave, where it stops.
The entire track from where the street begins and ends is nothing short of dirtiness. It is not some place I would want to be, unless I worked at one of the factories located on the street.

"Easy Street Taken and To Be Forgotten"
Right at E. 131st St. and Park Ave, there is a section under a bridge where sanitation parks their vehicles when not in use.
After passing Park Ave, there is a parking lot to the right and a huge commercial building on the left that houses Ursus Books. Once past this point there is a little openness followed by some apartment buildings.
Once past you go past Madison Ave, there is a large school on one side and a row of apartment buildings on the other. After passing 5th Ave, the street becomes W. 131st St.
Except for a block with a school, this street doesn't offer much. Just a bunch of buildings where people live and work.

"L.I.C. - Artistic and Big"
In fact, L.I.C. has the most number of art galleries, art institutions, and studio space of any neighborhood in New York City.
If you were to look back in history, you would find that Long Island City was the home to many factories and bakeries. These places have been renovated and are now providing new type of businesses.
For example, the former Silvercup Bakery is now called Silvercup Studios, which produces such shows as The Sopranos. You will also see 5 Pointz. This is a place that houses artists' studios. You can see it from the Court House Square Station on the 7 train as it is covered with graffiti.
If you lived here for a long time, you might remember Eagle Electric. They were here for a long time. Eventually, they moved operations to China. Now the place is being converted to residential luxury lofts.
Long Island City is also the home of the largest fortune cookie factory in the United States, owned by Wonton Foods. They produce as much as four million fortune cookies a day there. if you order from Fresh Direct, you may be surprised to know they are also headquartered in Long Island City on Bordon Ave.
Another point about Long Island City to keep in mind is their manufacturing facilities. Do you know Brooks Brothers, the famous tie making place, is headquartered there.
As you can see Long Island City does have a rich past and productive present and future.
