JetBlue To Keep Headquarters In NYC

I read on NY1 today, that JetBlue has reached a deal to keep its headquarters in NYC.

You can read the entire story here:

Not sure what the outcome will be and how NYC will benefit, but hopefully, it will help the economy to some degree.

Glad to hear it! JetBlue is a great airline, and I'm glad that NYC gets to keep its offices

Yeah, I hope it does good for NYC now and in the future. Have you ever used the airline for travel?

Jet Blue needs to start flying to more cities.

@JenMac and @Uptowngirl: I notice many specials on Orbitz and even the JetBlue website. So it appears they are trying to draw people to them. Maybe they will eventually spread out to more places.

I knew JetBlue was going to find a way around that one... It seems like they didn't have much choice in the matter.

@NeverSleeps; Yep, they did. If they know what is good for them, they will do everything they can to benefit consumers. That's how to gain customers.

I gotta say, JetBlue is fine, but really nothing beats Virgin. There is no comparison between the Virg and any other airline.

The Virg is pretty great. Over the holidays, during my flight, they even gave me warm fuzzy socks in economy class. Now that's style.

Virgin Atlantic is great; I use it to get to and fro from London/NYC. I find them really efficient - I hate flying - so anything that makes me feel "safe" is a plus; flying freaks me out!

@JenMac I have been dying for an excuse to fly Virgin! I keep meaning to check where they are flying these days...

Their food is GREAT by the way. One of the few airplane meals i really enjoy (when I'm not too busy swilling the free booze hoping desperately I'll pass out before getting too terrified....)

@ajadedidealist I used to like Virgin Atlantic as I used fly them across the pond often but now they have become quite stingy in their premium economy cabin as well where despite the fact that you are paying quite a bit more than economy you are expected to pay up 50 quid extra if you want an exit row seat but they are still better than BA which used to be good but since last year' has gone to the dogs' so as to speak.

The last time I flew anywhere I took JetBlue.. For some reason I always forget to check out Virgin, even if my friends in Cali are always telling me I need to. Don't they have video games on those flights?

@NeverSleeps On Virgin, you can actually "chat" with anyone seated anywhere else on the airplane. What a crazy idea! You can, you know date right there on the plane and hook up in the bathrooms? Yeah, but the movie selection is pretty great, and I always like the food. The dessert on the last flight was this exquisite dark chocolate brownie thing...

Is Delta on the endangered species list? It seemed they were the cheapest trans-Atlantic flight around for a long time, but lately it seems like they've either jacked up prices or else cut down on a lot of flight routes.

Hahah @uraniumfish! Well, all this talk of Virgin is making me almost not-hate flying. Over the next few weeks I'm scheduled to take flights on Ryanair, Easyjet, BMI, and Air Baltic - I'll have to get back to you guys with flight comparisons.

@ajadeidealist Wowa, that's so much flying! Yeah, come back with comparisons. This kind of insider information is good to know.

@DBlack I haven't flown Delta since they lost all my luggage around New Year's. I guess it's the time for them to misplace luggage, and I got it back, but I didn't appreciate the inconvenience at all. And there was no reason it should have happened - it was absurd.

@BroadwayBK Losing my luggage is my biggest fear when I fly. A friend of mine recently flew back to NYC from Dubai on a direct Dubai to NYC flight and lost one of her suitcases. Apparently it had been wrongly tagged and the airline has no clue where it is. This incident took place nearly three weeks ago and there is no sign of the suitcase until now. I was shocked when I heard this for Dubai airport has a dedicated and separate check-inn for the Emirates US flights so its strange that this still happened and the airline is unable to locate the suitcase which had expensive clothes and bags.
