"Hanging out with the B-Boys"

If you are doing a music tour of New York City, then Ludlow Street must be included in your travels. It may not be the most obvious location for you to see but the fact that The Beastie Boys used the location for the cover of their seminal Pauls Boutique album makes it a must see for all b-boys and hip hop fans. It’s an artistic street and area so there will be plenty to see and do when you get there but its another place to tick off when you think about NYC music landmarks.

"Fun at night"

Ludlow Street is a street in the Lower East Side. It is densely populated of fashion shops, art galleries, bars, restaurants, and clubs. A nice place to hang out with friends and listen to good live music is the Living Room. If, instead, you are searching for a club with great vibes, and a huge dancing crowd, then you should try Mehanata.

I am not sure whether it is a good street where to live. It can be very noisy and crowded, especially during the weekend.

"It's as interesting as the L.E.S gets"

Ludlow offers an interesting mix of daytime food and night time fun. Rush Hour is a great stop for a quick burger and Blue Seats offers a good spot for sports lovers. Pianos is more geared towards music lovers. There are some truly interesting boutiques along the way as well. Itsasickness, yes all one word, offers some interesting apparel options.

"Ludlow for nightlife"

Ludlow has some of the best bars in the Lower East Side - like Pianos and Cake Shop. Cake Shop doubles as a coffee shop and record store during the day, and during the night the basement bar and stage is opened up for live rock acts and general debauchery. Pianos features a usually-packed downstairs bar, and an upstairs bar with a cozy stage-to-audience ratio. A lot of great local bands can be found at either bar.

"Full of life"

Whilst I wouldn’t want to live here, Ludlow St in New York is a great place to go out. Full of bars and clubs, and the rest of the street plastered in gig posters, this is a place that bustles with life and I imagine there’s always some good live music to be found here.

"Music Capital of NYC"

Ok, the title might be a little full of hyperbole, but take my advice and head down to Ludlow anyway if you want to see a music concert. There is not just one but three great venues in the area. Start off by heading to the Living Room, home of the singer-songwriter type who will strum on his or her guitar and sing you a melancholy tune. If that's not your sort of thing, try heading over to Piano's, where many student bands and newly formed bands play their first gigs and establish themselves. If you're still not satisfied, consider heading over to the Cake Shop, where many established bands have played some smaller gigs. After all of that, why not try heading over to the Sombrero restaurant and getting some decent, inexpensive food while you're at it?

"Active place for the overly hipster, young, and often rich."

Ludlow St is frequented by young hipsters who pay too much on vintage clothing. Everyone seems to be a parody of themselves in this neighborhood. You may run into a celebrity or two at local music venue, bar, and snack shop CAKE SHOP. I saw James Iha and Steve Buscemi there once. A loud and vibrant street.

"Ludlow Street lays a little low..."

Ludlow is not one of the standout areas of New York, but it is still very busy. I would probably say that besides Madison Square Garden where all the huge concerts are, this little street might just be the music capital of NYC. Lots of performance venues, bars, clubs, and restaurants with a lot of music. This would possibly be a good place for small unkown musicians to try their hand at some nice little performances. A great nightlife area and full of quirky places to visit.
