Can one picnic somewhere on the grounds of Boscobel?

Yes, it's not marked so when you pay make sure the person explains it clearly where to go. Though if you go during the Shakespeare Festival, you can sit pretty much anywhere.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare runs at Boscobel during the summer months, and you can picnic on the grounds before the show. The view overlooking Constitution Marsh and West Point is spectacular. Either bring your own picnic, or you can order really good picnics from The Main Course in Cold Spring - they provide a choice of dinners during show nights.

Yes, we are allowed to use the designated picnic areas anytime during the regular hours. April through October the grounds are open from 9;30am to 5:00pm and November-December the grounds are open from 9:30 to am to 4:00pm. There are also special events at Boscobel, such the outdoor plays, when guests are allowed to enjoy a picnic and performance simultaneously!
