"University Drive..One Of The Main Veins Of The Heart Of Broward County, FL"
I have gone there many times for business and pleasure for years as a Florida Resident. There are plenty of places to go out to eat, drink and have a good time nearby. Not only that, but plenty of shopping plazas with all types of stores, big and small and if you don't have a ride, there's plenty of stops to catch the BCT (Broward County Transit) and/or some of the many free community bus routes as well. The only downside of University Drive is the traffic, especially during rush hour.

"Great place for errands"
University Drive is a large, well known road in Ft. Lauderdale. It is in a nice area depending on which part of University Drive you are on. There are many stores, diners, and strip malls that have been off this road forever and don't look like they are going anywhere. Many useful places along this road as well as entertainment such as the University Bowl (bowling). There is also a Broward Community College nearby as well as Nova Southeastern University. You will find that you can get a lot done on this road but I don't recall there being too many living areas off of it.
