"So beautiful: but only billionaires can live here"

Sutton Square is a tiny part of a tiny neighborhood, Sutton Place. It is one of the most expensive streets in Manhattan and it is entirely comprised of mansions and "townhouses" (I put it in quotes because they may as well be called mansions). This street, like the rest of the neighborhood, is very quiet and tranquil as far as cities go. It resembles an actual street in that the homes are all stand alone and they have actual yards -- some even have gated yards like you would find in Beverly Hills. It is ridiculously expensive and pretty stuffy. And, there aren't any restaurants or nightlife in the neighborhood, but the homes are so beautiful, you kind of don't care. And, if you can afford to live on this street, you probably have a driver anyway.
6 and 8 Sutton Square is what was once three townhouses combined into two. The wall separating the two homes changes on every floor which makes the two places really unique. Basically, the property line changes depending on what floor you're on. You would have to really have a harmonious rapport with your next door neighbor if you lived in one of these, it seems. 7 Sutton Square is a monstrous house that has been owned by Jack Warner of Warner Brothers and the owner of the Dallas Cowboys so you can imagine what this beast must go for when it's on the market. Aristotle Onassis lived at 16 Sutton Square. I wasn't kidding when I said that only the richest of the rich live on this one block street.
Pros
  • Beautiful
  • Serene
Cons
  • Crazy expensive
  • Dead at night
  • Stuffy
