"shopping, parks, and restaurants abound"

This is a great neighborhood with some nice eateries and upscale shopping. I recommend this area to visit for an evening.

"Up and coming neighborhood"

Cool area on the waterfront, but very noisy and becoming more and more expensive. Still not as expensive as some areas, and unique.

"Nice area on the waterfront"

Warren Place in Brooklyn is is near the Columbia Street Waterfront District. I think it has the potential to be one of the nicer areas in Brooklyn, but it is not as expensive as other areas because the revitalization has just begun. It is near the waterfront, and most of the developments have centered around this area. It is very noisy with a lot of traffic and construction but has a lot of potential.

"nice developing area in South Brooklyn"

Red Hook is the next hot area in Brooklyn. Get in now before prices go sky high!

"great shopping area!"

Manhattan Avenue has some awesome shopping and restaurants. It is very crowded, however, it is still a nice place to go for dinner and shopping.

"beautiful, quiet neighborhood"

State Street is beautiful but super pricey, in Brooklyn Heights. There are lots of great restaurants.

"not a horrible area, but not super nice"

Sorry, I know this area is supposed to be getting better, but it still seems unsafe. It is not as bad as it used to be.

"not a beautiful street, only ok."

Rogers Ave runs through the Crown Heights neighborhood. Crown Heights is another area being revitalized in Brooklyn, with many young people moving in for lack of affordable housing elsewhere. I was interested in the area due to it's close proximity to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. However, I still wouldn't feel totally comfortable living there, but it is ok. Not an especially pretty neighborhood.

"nice for walks, beautiful views."

New Dock Street is located in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn, Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This is another area that until recently was old and run-down, full of warehouses, but in recent years has become hip and trendy. This is an artsy area, with many funky boutiques, cafes, and art galleries. A lot of young people and artists live in this neighborhood. There are some breathtaking views along the waterfront, this is a great place to have dinner and walk in the evenings.

"nice developing area, near parks"

Pioneer Street is in South Brooklyn in the Red Hook neighborhood, and is undergoing a lot of recent changes. It still has an old-school Brooklyn feel but there are a lot of new construction developments and revitalization going on too. It seems to be a safe neighborhood and some areas have a nice view of the water. It is not very convenient to commute to Manhattan as the nearest subway stop is some distance away. Red Hook Park is adjacent and is a very nice park.

"quiet but seems a little shady"

Cypress Avenue is a major street running through Bushwick. I know Bushwick is improving and is supposed to be a up and coming neighborhood in Brooklyn, but I looked at an apartment there and still didn't like the vibe of the area. It is quiet, but not in a pleasant, tree lined way, just in a deserted way. It was a run-down area and didn't seem especially safe. It is very inexpensive, which could be a plus.
