"Only one thing going for it, proximity to the Palmetto"

Like in the title, this street has not much going for it in the specific area I speak of. While it runs through a nice neighborhood, I wouldn't wish a vacation on the street on my worst enemy. It is dead quiet and very few people seem to know about the turn off onto The Palmetto Expressway. US1 is one street you want to avoid in the morning drive, and skirting down the back roads through 98th street is a great way to do that.

"Multilane, can feel like a highway."

Kendall Drive actually has a lot going on surrounding it including several strip malls near US1 and a bowling alley near 117th Avenue. Also, check out Dadeland, a huge shopping mall with all the amenities. I spent many embarrassing late Augusts school clothes shopping with my mother there. There are just a slew of chain stores and restaurants right off of this busy street. Unfortunately it can get rather clogged during rush hour, especially because it's Palmetto Highway's last exit before dumping into US1. So please avoid from 4-7 PM.

"Decent fun area with relaxed nightlife"

Red Road, also known as 57th Avenue, has a very nice outdoor mall named Sunset Place near 72nd Street. There one can find bars, restaurants, shopping, and movies all while still enjoying the Florida sun. It really is an area for all ages though. I hung out there from middle school well through my adolescence. While the other side of US1, Red Road becomes somewhat residential through Bird Road when it reaches the Coral Gables area, it remains a main road and can sometimes have heavy traffic. Visit the neighborhood's first Whole Foods Market, near the intersection of Red Road and US1.
