Favorite place to be when it snows

I was at Kingswood in the west village when the first snow fell. There's that giant window and you could see the snow falling down on the park across the street; the streets were empty and it was beautiful. So, I started wondering what some other good spots are to watch the snow with a hot toddy . . . .

This might seem an unlikely place at first, but the big windows and the generous seating area at Whole Foods (Houston & Bowery) in the upstairs area is great for snow-watching over lunchtime.

Actually, a Hot Toddy involves whiskey, not red wine.

I had one with a friend last week and afterward we both started sinking into our seats. I was nearly comatose and coudl barely drag myself home. Lesson learned: only drink hot toddies very close to where you live so you can immediately fall asleep afterward.

@Uraniumfish I meant that I dont like to drink Red wine which seems the natural choice of drink for people in the winter months.
I do know toddies and the only place that I have had one in NYC is at the Quality Meats Steak House where it was made with brandy. I think its more of a British thing...I am suddenly craving one and its only 8.40 am!!!

@uptowngirl Oh, okay, I read that one too fast.

Yeah, stay away from those Hot Toddies unless you plan an afternoon nap into your schedule.

I think anywhere you can get a good view is helpful to see snow fall. I do know that NYC didn't get as much snow as the kids would have liked to see. I went to Long Island yesterday and saw such piles of snow. They got walloped.

Never heard of a Hot Toddy before!

I'd love to see the view from the Staten Island ferry - I bet that would be gorgeous. Or the view from the top of Belvedere Castle in Central Park....

I actually prefer to cosy up in my own apartment. It is really warm. And I do get to see the snow fall in the living room window.
