Horseback Riding in NYC

Now that the lovely Upper West Side Claremont Academy has closed, one can't ride horses through the streets of Manhattan quite so easily. However, apparently this is another option: http://www.nycgovparks.org/sub_things_to_do/facilities/af_horseback_riding.html. Anybody else ride in the city? I used to love using the Bridle Path!

No. I don't use the horses in the winter. It is just too cold. Maybe in the summer I will. Have to wait and see. Maybe an interesting experience.

Thanks for this ajadedidealist! What a great idea for an afternoon once it gets a bit warmer. Not too shabby on the prices, either.

I love getting to the park from the stables - nothing like riding a horse down Broadway to get onlookers' attention!

Hey, maybe you might strike a man's fancy, ajdadedidealist. One day your Prince Charming may arrive that way. Unless you already have your Prince Charming, and just looking for excitement and fun.

A friend of mine has been taking riding lessons in Prospect Park and has been trying to get me to join. I promised I would give it a shot once the weather is better. I hope the animals aren't sad, boxed-in, over worked animals. Let's see.

@ajadeidealist Wait, you're allowed to ride a horse down Broadway? There's no city ordinance against that type of thing?
