Famous for its restaurants, cafes, and department stores. Lamp posts along the avenue once displayed medallions of every North and South American nation.

"About Bedford Street"

Bedford Street offers different architecture as compared to the other buildings in New York. Named for a street in London's Covent Garden. That street is the address of St. Paul's Church, which may have something to do with why the name was appropriated.

Beautiful buildings, beautiful restaurants, and beautiful sights to see.

"Night clubs here rock!"

It is in the Greenwich Village night club district not far from Washington Square Park. You can find the best restaurants, the best bars, and the best girls! Bleecker Street was named for Anthony Bleecker, a lawyer and poet. He got this honor not for his writing, apparently, but because the street ran through his farm.

"Canal Street = really a canal?"

Canal Street actually was a canal before--or at least a channel to drain the heavily polluted ponds. It was dug in 1805 and paved over as a stagnant health hazard in 1815, but an underground stream apparently still flows beneath the roadway. It's one of the most famous New York streets, also called "Little Italy."

"Full of lights"

Although it’s not really a “street,” it is home for the best restaurants and bars, for the best happenings in town, for the flashy advertisements, and it is exactly where the entire city joins together as it celebrates the New Year countdown every New Year’s Eve and where the new year ball drops.

"It's all about musicals!"

Broadway Avenue is the best place to catch the greatest plays, musicals, or any other theatrical shows of all time--they run shows of the legendary musicals such as Cats down to Les Miserables. If you’re a tourist in New York, your trip would not be complete without watching a play in this avenue.

"Great place for shopping!"

Fifth Avenue is the heart of New York City, if not the most popular avenue there. Known for its popular branded shops and boutiques for the latest fashion, and the top-of-the-line restaurants, and the hippest residences in the city, how can it not be the place for anyone to be seen?
