"Noisy and Loud - The Brazilian Way"

If you like Brazil and its food and culture, go to West 46th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. The area was actually given the nickname "Little Brazil." The reason it is called Little Brazil is because of all the blue and green flags hanging around. The good side to this area are the many delicious authentic foods you will find in the area.

The bad part of being here is that noise. The area is very noisy and unorganized.

The best part of the area is that if you keep right on walking down 46th St, you will get to Chelsea Piers.
Pros
  • Plenty of stores
  • Plenty of restaurants
Cons
  • Too busy at times
  • Too many people at times
  • Too loud of noise

"Come to W 46th Street to see (not so) Little Brazil"

Go visit West 46th Street if you want to see a street taken over and enriched by Brazilian business and culture. Nicknamed "Little Brazil", the West 46th Street area between 5th and 6th Avenue is covered in blue and green flags. With all kinds of Brazilian restaurants and stores, this area is a fun and delicious visit. My favorite restaurant of that area being Emporium Brasil. Their deliciously authentic food and nice bar area is a great lunch or dinner destination.

"Where has 46th gone"

There are a few spots in New York City I'm not totally in love with, and this is one of them. While looking for Mediterrean Food, we happened on the "little Brazil" section of 46th. This street is noisy and unorganized and mostly just a row of restaurants that dont get what New York city is about. Its too in your face, "look at me". My favorite part of the street is that if you keep going, it takes you to chelsea Piers. A place totally worth visiting.

"More than Little Brazil, It's About the Buildings!"

Everyone says 46th Street is all about Little Brazil and Restaurant Row, and that's all great, but it's so much more than that. I stayed at the Muse Hotel here (a cute little boutique hotel) and it's now one of my favorite hotels in the world. The neighborhood up and down 46th is dotted with cool statues and some amazing turn of the century fashion stores -- this is the street where Israel Miller built all her amazing shoe stores, so it's a magical place for me!

"Little, noisy, unorganized"

If you're Brazilian or love Brazil, this is great for you. But if not, it seems like an overly noisy, tiny area with a few Brazilian-themed items dwarfed out by the natural 'beauty' of New York City. Brazilian food is good, but nothing to write home about. It's great if you have nothing else to do or are of Brazilian decent, but otherwise it can be skipped.
