"Where has 46th gone"

There are a few spots in New York City I'm not totally in love with, and this is one of them. While looking for Mediterrean Food, we happened on the "little Brazil" section of 46th. This street is noisy and unorganized and mostly just a row of restaurants that dont get what New York city is about. Its too in your face, "look at me". My favorite part of the street is that if you keep going, it takes you to chelsea Piers. A place totally worth visiting.

"Defined the Flatiron district."

The Building on 23rd street gave the district its name, the Flatiron district. Its a nice typical street, other than the iconic building and the famed Chelsea Hotel, this street is like so many others in New York City. There are quite a few small restaurants and some art galleries, which is a must for any decent street in New York. West is more of a commercial area, where East 23rd street has more green areas a better residencial climate. For New york standards its a clean street, its nor particulary noise or quite.

"Wide Tree lined Streets"

This is a perfect street and one of my favorite streets. It runs from Central Park, with elegant Residential buildings, and it is tree lined. At a point the Avenue of the Americas or 6th Avenue as its best knows turns into a shoppers paradise, with iconic stores like Macys. The buildings through out the street are of a classy architecture. There are a variety of restaurant and clubs that line this vibrant and fun street. The downside of 6th Avenue it that it is constantly packed with tourist(like me), so it can be hectic and really busy, but realy worth the visit.

"The essence of New York City"

Right outside Grand Central Station is the majestic 42nd Street, this for those of us who live outside the City but work and play in it is where everything starts. Even if you are just going to Madison Square Garden and you don't need to get out of the station, you should. There is a hot dog stand right outside the station that is always there came rain or shine and I always make a point to start my New York Adventure there. 42nd Maybe one of the busiest streets I ever visited but it also the best. Avoid commuter hours if you can, but other than that this street is always fun. I like to take friends you have never visited the City just to see their reaction once they step outside Grand Central station, everyone seems to have the same reaction. Im not sure that living anywhere on 42nd is advisable but it is certainly the most fun. There are fun shops all over 42nd like the MM store or the Godiva chocolate store. I digress, this is a fun and vibrant street. One not to miss if you are visiting New York.

"Quiet and affordable"

Lafayette street is not a typical glitsy New York street, its quiter and some who can only appreciate the abvious would even call it boring. But if you have an open mind and spirit you will find this street anything but boring, this street is centrally located and it seems to cater to the people that live there. It is full of off the cuff and out of the box shops, one of my favorite shopping areas, but it is not for those who are looking for famous brand names or upscale shopping. Its a transition street and its clean and very quite at night.

"The other side of Broadway"

Most of us have heard of Broadway In Manhanttan, some of even dreamed of working there, but there is more of Broaway to visit than the theater distric. Take for example the shopping area of Soho, you can find some of the most popular brands, some may not be affordable, but thats the beauty of it you can always walk a little and find something affordable. Broadway is extensive and for the regular visitor like me and doesnt fail to show me something different every time. In one of my favorite trips to this street I found Ellen stardust cafe, to me it was a perfect example of Brodway. A crasy, yet controlled mixed of brilliance, insanity and dreams.
On the pratical side Broadway is great because it travel for ever and it can take you anywhere, it is busy and the sidewalks sometimes a little hard to get by, But the heart of New York after all.

"Canal Street, New York, New York"

My first experience in New York City was visiting a office in Canal Street. For the life of me I could not understand what the Big Deal about New York was. If the rest of the City was like this Street than it was charmless, Rude, dirty and out of control. Over the next year I made several trips to this same office and started to learn to appreciate the Uniqueness of this street, and for what really has to offer. Great Shopping experience (if your brave). If New York city is the Melting pot, than Canal Street is where it gets its most exotic ingridients. The Vendors on street, where I think you can do your best shopping, seem like they come from every corner of the world. This is also true in the restaurants it has that line Canal Street. The street is large and extremelly hectic, I would not want to live in it, but it is perfect for a day of shopping and just to see people and things you would not find on the other side of the river.

"The green street of New York city"

If you can afford to live here than you are blessed, not just because you are rich but because you are able to live in on of the prettiest streets in New York City. This street is perfect city living. You are minutes away from everything, as you are in every corner of New York city. However in central Park west you had the added Bonus of being within a short walking distance of escaping the hectic streets of New York, by visinting Central Park. The best of what New York has to offer is nearby. Like almost everywhere on the Island, traffic can be difficult to deal with, but not as hectic as most other New York City Streets. There is a lot of tourist traffic.
Everytime I visit this street I wonder what it must be like to live in one of those classy building, that line Central Park West.
