I wouldn't say that. There are many areas that are dangerous to live, while there are some areas that are nice. I've been through various places in Brooklyn and do not find the areas attractive at all. On the other hand, there are places that do look decent. I guess it is an individual choice.

I like my new neighborhood, though Brooklyn's a pretty big place...

Yeah... I guess I won't be heading out to Brownsville or East New York anytime soon.

Every Neighborhood has it's own personality. What is good for one may not be for another. Brooklyn has something for all. Tell us something good!

@BrooklynReBlog I guess, but I'm not trying to sell Brooklyn to anyone and would rather just tell it like it is. And I think everyone kind of agrees that Brownsville is lousy.

I'm such a Manhattanite. I've only been to Brooklyn a handful of times in my entire life - and wouldn't really want to live there. Not that there aren't so many great neighborhoods across the river, but when I think of "home" I think of Manhattan and its neighborhoods. Best place in the WORLD - Manhattan.

@ajadedidealist I agree, I am a bit partial to my Manhattan neighborhood as well though I do enjoy my outings in Brooklyn where my brother resides. I love the restaurant rows along Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue in Park Slope and Smith Street and of course all those charming brownstones of Brooklyn Heights. However as hhusted and Uraniumfish mention not all of Brooklyn is pretty or even safe.

@Uraniumfish: Bensonhurst is a horrible looking area. It is dirty. Construction work everywhere. Just not a great place to be.

We are all a little partial to our own Neighborhoods. But we are New Yorkers and we are a little spoiled.

Oh, I see: you're just plugging your blog. More power to ya.

Haha. I love the thinly disguised blog props. Have you ever read the NY Times comment section? Every other comment is a veiled plug for someone's blog. That said - more power to anyone who takes the time to write about NYC in any form! I'm such an NYC junkie...

@BrooklynReBlog not at all go ahead and plug away, perhaps you would want to write some reviews of the areas that you know well in Brooklyn for the street review section of this website as well.

I didn't say it was bad, just pointing it out. I do not have a blog to plug and say what I think, that's all. As I said, more power to ya.
