The city's changing skyline

Another controversy, this time over a newly proposed skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan -15 Penn Plaza. The owner of the Empire State , Building, Anthony Malkin who earlier this year refused to honor Mother Theresa with his building's lighting scheme now is vociferously opposing the construction of the new glass tower as he believes it will block the Empire State Building.

Doesn't Anthony Malkin have anything better to do with his time. Bloomberg already said okay to it. So Mr. Malkin has no say. He should just butt out of anything related to another other building and tend to his own.

@uptowngirl New Yorkers always resist big changes, don't they? I am thinking Malkin feels like this new building is going to lessen his status quo in a way. Which does in fact make him a spoiled brat. This city will never stop changing, anyway. They posted a pic of what this new building will look like on the NY Mag website: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/08/the_empire_state_building_thin.html

@BroadwayBK the cities I frequent I live in and visit nowadays.. Hongkong, Mumbai, Singapore have rapidly changing skylines. Old buildings are being knocked and new towers being erected everyday.. NYC is a dynamic , ambitious city and 15 Penn is going to be located in the heart of Mid-town which is like the Central Business District of NYC, I think its a bit churlish of the ESB owners to throw such a tantrum.
