Speaking of dumb laws:

The New York one is...actually one that most New yorkers follow. Hmm. I was pretty impressed by Indiana and Arkansas.

This is the law for NY that I read at the above link:
New York
While riding in an elevator, you must talk to no one, fold your hands, and look toward the door.
Folks, I violate that law every time I go into an elevator. I always smile and say hi to someone.

Oh, no way, @hhusted! I'm pretty friendly, but I would freak out at elevator chit-chat. I like my personal space, darn it!

Also would be awkward having to be the arresting officer...

I posted that one in one of my articles as well. With the series I wrote, I got many views. People seemed to like them especialy with me commenting on each. One turned out to be true. I didn't know that in Pennsyvania you couldn't buy fireworks. I was wondering why so may Pennsylvanians were coming to New York when I was there. No one told me, of course. I miss New York, been thinking about it a lot lately.

@Freyja4 You can't do anything related to fireworks in NYC. It's even illegal to transport them, much less buy or sell them. There are signs to that effect all over town lately, in anticipation of the 4th of July.

I recall that. Gosh, the 4th is coming. That means my bday, too. Mines the 3rd. I can never plan much bc either certain places are closed or people are busy with other things.

@hhusted: Yeah. I think am. But I am also one of those people, that does want respect in her home. Just recently I have had to deal with my husbands friend who does show respect. He acts like he can run my home and then he threatns to hurt if I tell him what to do my home. My husband has already said that if he does that, he'll be in a world of hurt. I really don't take that type of stuff from people I may be very nice, but I don't like to be taken advantage ebcuase I am. I like helping people if they can show that the help pays off andthey don't ask too much. I've had to learn about being a bit aggressive when I need to be growing up and moving so much. Cancers aren't naturally that way from what I've seen. Though There are some things I still have trouble putting my two cents in about. Sorry about your mom. I hope she went peacefully.

@Freyja4: My mother had a stroke and then developed Parkinson's disease. The same disease that hit Michael J. Fox. My mother was very weak. She died of a heart attack. Just remembering it making me teary-eyed. :) :)
